Eyes Wide Open

Watched the Lucy, Daughter of Satan episode last night. I’ll do a write-up on it soon (Back-linked 10/15/07), but for now, to use Hollywood jargon, I’ll say it was like Bohemian Grove meets Eyes Wide Shut.

Speaking of the latter, came across this informative clip:

I’ve always felt there was a lot more to Stanley Kubrick than meets the eye. An amazing director? Indisputably. Creator of one of the top films ever? Dr. Strangelove should be in anyone serious film buff’s Top Three list.

Was he employed by NASA to stage/film the Apollo Moon Landing hoax? Possibly. Was he a member of some secret society. Without a doubt. Just watch some of his films and you can’t help but spot the occult symbolism.

Clockwork Orange (1971) was a futuristic portent into the glorification of violence, flirted with the idea of mind control and portrayed a world where violent criminals are recruited as policemen (ah, that would be the world of today). Dr. Strangelove (1964) was sheer genius, but ultimately, served as an extremely useful propaganda tool; for years to follow, it personally guaranteed that any rational person who might question putting Fluoride in the water supply would be automatically dismissed as a raving lunatic.

While the above clip raises many interesting ideas about Eyes Wide Shut (1999), it skirts what I feel is one of the most controversial aspects of the film, a point from which my research into the occult, agrees with the statement Alex Jones made, which is that the main misleading presentation of the orgy sequences, is that they bring in drugged-up female prostitutes. In reality, they very likely bring in gay porn stars, teenage boys and children of both sexes.

Was Stanley attempting to clear his conscience with the final cut of Eyes Wide Shut? Is that why they killed him?

*Post-publicatione note: Found two excellent supporting articles. One, depicting even more occult symbolism. Another, an interview which argues Kubrick was killed because of the final cut (never to be seen, I guess) he released to the studio.
