Know Your Penile History

The Washington Monument in DC is an obelisk. Wherever you see an obelisk, you are looking at a representation of the Egyptian god Osiris’s lost penis.

The legend, in brief, goes, that Osiris was attacked by his enemies and hacked into 13 pieces which were then scattered throughout the world (as Osiris was immortal, this was the means of preventing him from seeking revenge). Osiris’s lover, Isis, set out on a quest to find the pieces and recombine him. She only found 12 pieces. The remaining piece, forever lost, was his hacked off penis, hence she fashioned him a replacement out of gold.

Thus, whatever city you see and obelisk in (and there are many of them), you (and your kids) are basically looking at a phallus.

At the dedication ceremony of our own Washington monument, attended by hundreds of prominent Masons, the keynote speech went:

“Their minds enlightened with divine love, their souls cherishing — like the ancient Egyptian worshipers of Osiris — the hope of immortality.”

A Christian nation indeed…
